Viridian Air is pleased to announce the successful completion of an Air Quality and Dust Risk Assessment and Management Plan for an exciting mixed-use development project in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.
The project involves the redevelopment of a disused office building to provide a combination of:
- Mixed-use office space (Class E)
- Storage facilities (Class B8)
- A commercial kitchen (sui generis)
- Light commercial units (Class E)
- 30 new residential units
Our Contribution
As part of the planning process, Viridian Air delivered a detailed Air Quality Assessment and prepared a robust Dust Management Plan (DMP).
The assessment considered:
- Potential air quality impacts from demolition, refurbishment, and construction activities
- Future emissions from traffic and commercial uses associated with the site
- Compliance with local authority requirements and planning policy
The DMP sets out practical measures to minimise dust emissions, protect residential amenity, and safeguard local air quality throughout the construction and operational phases.
Supporting Sustainable Development
This project highlights the importance of air quality considerations in planning for both residential and commercial growth. By addressing air quality risks early, developers can secure planning approvals more smoothly while ensuring a healthier environment for future occupiers and the surrounding community.
