Viridian Air is pleased to announce the successful completion of a Dust Control and Management Plan for a residential redevelopment project in Kettering, Northamptonshire.

The project involves the demolition of an existing industrial building and the redevelopment of the site into a number of dwellings over two floors. In accordance with a planning condition issued by North Northamptonshire Council, a Dust Control Scheme was required prior to the commencement of any demolition or construction works.

The planning condition stated:

“Before the commencement of development which, for the avoidance of doubt shall be taken to include any Demolition or Construction activity, a Dust Control Scheme shall be submitted to and approved in writing by the local planning authority. No demolition or construction shall take place except in complete accordance with the approved Scheme unless otherwise submitted to and agreed in writing with the Local Planning Authority.”

This requirement aimed to:

“Ensure that the residential amenities that occupiers can reasonably expect to enjoy are adequately protected and in accordance with Policy 8 of the North Northamptonshire Joint Core Strategy.”

Viridian Air developed a robust, site-specific Dust Management Plan (DMP) that addresses both demolition and construction phase dust emissions. The plan defines clear mitigation measures, monitoring strategies, and control procedures to ensure compliance with the council’s requirements and safeguard local air quality during site activity.
